What we collect

To create an account we collect your email address. When you use the app we store your account details and the entries, tags, custom types, and records you create. We collect basic analytics (page views) but never the content of your entries. We use two analytics providers: Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, and Google Analytics, which is only active after you accept analytics in the consent banner.

How we protect it

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Journal entries are protected by row-level security (RLS) policies in our Postgres database — a query by one user cannot access another user's data, even if that query runs under a compromised session.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not use your writing to train machine learning models. We do not show advertisements. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to provide the service: our hosting providers (Supabase for the database and sign-in, Vercel for the website) and the analytics providers named above.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. After deletion, your data is removed from our production systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
